About Change this
Vuko Bombardelli was a Croatian architect who is one of the most renowned and honored designers from the Dalmatian region. Primarily was a designer and architect of large modern buildings, such as the E-57 residential housing project in Split, where his work emphasized functionalism and constructivism. In addition to buildings, he also created many public sculpture works across Croatia. In the early 1960s, he received several commissions to design such public works in the form of monument complexes to honor Partisan efforts during the National Liberation War (WWII). After the fall of Yugoslavia, some of these works experienced varying levels of neglect and destruction, for which he expressed great frustration and dismay.
