Clorindo Manuel José Testa, was born in Naples, Italy (December 10th, 1923 - April 11th, 2013) but moved to Argentina as a child. Testa was an architect and artist, he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Universidad de Buenos Aires in 1948.

In his work he was one of the leaders of the Argentine rationalist movement and was one of the pioneers to the brutalist movement in Argentina. His style as an architect has always been influenced by his artistic nature, his projects are dominated by the effects of colour, tension, metaphors and plasticity, these aspects are well illustrated in his designs for the Biblioteca Nacional de la República Argentina and the Banco de Londres building in Buenos Aires (London Bank in Buenos Aires).

During his career as an architect Testa built a reputation as an innovative and paradigm breaking designer, who regularly redefined the conventions of his age. Testa was distinguished with an honorary PhD from the University of Buenos Aires in 1992 and also received an honorary title in Rome in 2003.

Testa died aged 89 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
